WORSHIP THROUGH STEWARDSHIP

RESPONSIVE READING

This Responsive Reading helped me with Tithing.

2 Corinthians 9:7 - "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give,

not reluctantly or under compulsion, for GOD loves a cheerful giver."

Speaker (Pastor, Minister, Staff, etc.): It's tithing and giving time!

People (Church): Always giving thanks to GOD the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:20)

Speaker (Pastor, Minister, Staff, etc.): To whom does the tithe belong?

People (Church): The tithe belongs to the Lord "and all the tithes of the land or of the fruit of the tree is the Lord's, it is holy unto the Lord." (Leviticus 27:30)

Speaker (Pastor, Minister, Staff, etc.): Why should we tithe?

People (Church): Because the Lord says: "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house." (Malachi 3:10).

Speaker (Pastor, Minister, Staff, etc.): Should we tithe from our gross or our net?

People (Church): "Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed that the field bringeth forth year by year." (Deuteronomy 14:22). This means we should tithe from our gross.

Speaker (Pastor, Minister, Staff, etc.): How much should we tithe?

People (Church): Now consider how great this man was to whom Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils." (Hebrews 7:4). This means at least 10% should begin our tithe to the Lord.

Speaker (Pastor, Minister, Staff, etc.): What is GOD's promise to the tither?

People (Church): "Try Me and see if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10). This is a great promise!

All: "Give and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back." (Luke 6:38).

Let us pray: Lord, if our circumstances are poverty, make our souls rich. If our circumstances are wealth, make our giving disciplined. Whether rich or poor, we would be found faithful. In the name of Jesus, who owning little of earth's goods, gave everything that we might be saved. Amen.
